Venice 2005

Infrastructures can no longer be thought and designed as autonomous buildings isolated from the context, but should be thought of as an important part, sometimes fundamental, an urban place, capable of enriching and/or generating the new identity of a new city or landscape.
Terminals, for example, are essential for the very life of a city: to regulate the flow of people and goods, to avoid traffic jams, bottlenecks and dysfunctions.
The Cecchetto&Associati has repeatedly won international competitions and designed essential infrastructures and terminals to ensure a future housing to places of great interest and value as the historic settlements within the lagoon of Venice.
He won the competition and designed the car and tourist terminal of Fusina north of the Venice lagoon. He also designed the architectures and the insertion in the landscape of the infrastructure for the lifting of the mobile dams of the MOSE at the port mouth of Malamocco.
