<strong>growing vines<\/strong>. In particular when they occupy the southern slope of the <strong>Alps<\/strong>, which is always <strong>exposed to the sun and protected from the north cold winds<\/strong>. These characteristics run throughout the <strong>Alps<\/strong> from <strong>Piemonte<\/strong> to <strong>Friuli<\/strong>, including the slopes of <strong>Lombardia<\/strong>, <strong>Veneto<\/strong> and <strong>Trentino Alto Adige<\/strong>. Just remember the most famous wines such as <strong>Barbera, Cortese di Gavi, Chardonnay, Erbaluce, Prosecco<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to exposure, the <strong>ground is highly significant<\/strong>: it must be draining, so as not to overload the vine and to force it to give the best perfumes and fragrances.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>morainic soils<\/strong>, shaped by the erosion of the southern rocky Alp volumes, are ideal. Fragrant and acidic <strong>white wines<\/strong> are produced in these soils, <strong>perfect to be bottled with the Champenois method<\/strong>. It is no coincidence that the area of <strong>Iseo Lake<\/strong>, which produces <strong>Franciacorta<\/strong>, is now considered among the most famous and sought after.<\/p>\n<p>They asked us for a <strong>new winery<\/strong>, after our first experimental achievement at <strong>Mezzocorona in Trentino<\/strong>, which had opened the doors of its cellars to <strong>contemporary architecture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As in Mezzocorona, and as we usually do, we start by <strong>reading the place<\/strong>, context, character of the landscape, which contain much of the creativity that we need.<\/p>\n<p>There are many similarities with Mezzocorona: both are <strong>located in a \u201cdegraded\u201d site<\/strong>: between abandoned Trentino factories and, in this case, <strong>around a landfill<\/strong> <strong>of building materials<\/strong>. All the better if the <strong>roof of the building becomes an experimental vineyard<\/strong> and cultivated area.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>winery thus becomes an integral part of the landscape<\/strong>, with the exception of a <strong>central square<\/strong> <strong>where all collective functions are situated<\/strong>, from the <strong>bar<\/strong> to the <strong>shopping area<\/strong>, from the <strong>theatre<\/strong> to a <strong>space of 1500 square metres,<\/strong> which like an <strong>ancient farmyard<\/strong> becomes the <strong>fulcrum of architectural
